Australia Winter Crop Prospects Remain Favorable

Kansas City, September 10 (World Weather Inc.) – A large section of the winter wheat, barley, and canola areas received varying amounts of rain during the past week. Queensland remains a little too dry to support ideal long-term production potentials while other locations have enough moisture to promote good crop prospects. Queensland and northern New South Wales will trend mostly dry through the middle of next week while the remaining production areas have a few opportunities for mostly light rain. Winter grain and oilseed potentials will remain generally good outside the driest locations in Queensland.

NW India To Dry Down; Monsoonal Will Persist Elsewhere

Kansas City, September 10 (World Weather Inc.) – A monsoonal disturbance brought heavy rain to portions of western India in recent days. Flooding was noted in recent weeks in portions of Punjab late in August and earlier this month while localized flooding was also possible in Gujarat, southern Rajasthan, and neighboring locations in recent days. Northwestern India will now see dry or mostly dry weather evolve for at least the next seven days, which should help reduce flood waters and improve conditions for early-season harvesting. In the meantime, the remaining production areas in India will have several opportunities for monsoonal rain through the middle of next week. Late-season development conditions will remain favorable for most locations despite the threat for localized flooding from eastern India into Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and neighboring locations.
