Tropical Storm Edouard Brings Heavy Rain to East Texas

Kansas City, September 2 (World Weather Inc.) – Heavy rain accompanied Tropical Storm Edouard into far eastern Texas late Tuesday and overnight. Some flooding resulted and a few reports of high wind gusts, but overall, the storm came inland without much serious impact. The storm has been downgraded to a tropical depression and will dissipate overnight tonight as it drifts through eastern Texas.

Australia Winter Grain, Oilseed Prospects Still Favorable

Kansas City, September 1 (World Weather Inc.) – Despite the growing influence of El Nino across the world, prospects for the winter wheat, barley, and canola remain favorable in Australia. Several production areas experienced wetter-than-usual conditions over the winter especially in the southern production. Ample moisture will support a good environment for reproduction in the coming weeks and months as long as periodic rain continues. Queensland and northern New South Wales are the only areas that would benefit from increased rain in the near future as many areas dried down recently. Precipitation during the coming week will favor South Australia and Victoria. Spotty rain is also slated for Western Australia and southern New South Wales. Crop conditions will remain favorable for these locations. Queensland and northern New South Wales will continue to dry down and the need for timely rain will increase later this month.

Weekly Citrus Weather for Tuesday, September 1, 2026

Kansas City, September 1 (World Weather Inc.) – Florida’s citrus region saw waves of rain during the past week. With frequent rainfall persisting for at least a week, citrus development conditions will remain favorable across the production region. Mexico’s citrus areas also saw a good mix of rain and sunshine during the past week. Northeastern Mexico remains a little dry and would benefit from a boost in precipitation. Monsoonal rain will persist during the coming week, though pockets in northeastern Mexico will remain a little dry. Brazil’s citrus areas will see a mix of rain and sunshine during the coming week. Additional rain toward mid-month could support good early-season flowering.

Western Europe Drought To Ease In Time For Autumn Planting

Kansas City, September 1 (World Weather Inc.) – Drought in western Europe has been ongoing since March of this year and some will tell you that it actually began last summer (2025). Indeed, heat and dryness first began to impact western Europe in last year’s growing season. A welcome respite from the dryness occurred during the autumn and winter of 2025-26 and World Weather, Inc. believes that will occur again this year. However, the next two to three weeks may not offer a tremendous amount of relief and dryness will remain a concern for producers, traders and food companies until routine rain resumes.
