Brazil Northern Safrinha Corn Areas Favorably Moist

Kansas City, March 17 (World Weather Inc.) – Weather conditions in Brazil over the past couple of weeks have been a bit unchanging with frequent rain falling from Minas Gerais to Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul while southern Brazil dried down. The pattern is classic La Nina and it will linger for a little while longer. Despite concern about some areas being too wet and others too dry the outlook is still quite favorable especially since the frequency and intensity of rainfall in center west through center south crop areas will slacken a bit over the coming ten days.

Argentina Rain To Saturate Soil, Delay Early Harvest

Kansas City, March 17 (World Weather Inc.) – Corn harvesting has begun in Argentina while harvesting of rice and sunseed remains well underway. Rainfall during the past week across Argentina was highly variable with Entre Rios, northern Buenos Aires, and neighboring areas in Santa Fe and Corrientes trending mostly dry. Late-season development conditions for the coarse grains, oilseeds, and cotton remained highly variable due to the uneven distribution of rainfall in recent weeks. Argentina will trend unusually wet this week as disturbances often pass over the country. The rain will be welcome for any crops that are still in the developmental stages. However, maturation and early-season harvesting may advance slowly in the wettest locations. Minor oilseed and cotton quality declines will be possible as well.

Middle East Crop Areas To Trend Wetter Than Usual

Kansas City, March 17 (World Weather Inc.) – Timely rain in recent weeks supported good conditions for the winter grains for Turkey and the main production areas in the Middle East. Production potentials improved or remained favorable due to the rain and adequate amounts of moisture in storage. These areas will continue to receive rain on a frequent basis during the coming week. Additional rain will further bolster soil moisture and water storage levels. Production potentials for the winter wheat, barley, and other crops will remain favorable. Early-season planting prospects for the cotton and other spring crops will also improve or remain relatively good.

Weekly Citrus Weather For March 17, 2026

Kansas City, March 17 (World Weather Inc.) – Florida’s main citrus areas received significant rainfall during the past week. Resulting rain was too light to completely fix the drought, but was still beneficial for the citrus that is flowering or setting fruit. Drier weather will return during the coming week and most areas will gradually dry down. The need for timely rain will increase late this month into April as more of the citrus is flowering and setting fruit. Harvesting and general farming activity will advance swiftly. In Brazil, the main citrus areas saw a good mix of rain and sunshine during the past week. With more rain on the way during the coming week, citrus conditions will remain favorable. Mexico’s citrus areas will receive varying amounts of rain during the coming week. Northeastern Mexico will be driest and would benefit from increased rainfall.
