Northern, West-Central U.S. Plains Freeze Tonight

Kansas City, May 18 (World Weather Inc.) – Temperatures continue to gyrate at an impressive rate and over wide ranges this spring. Another wild swing in temperatures occurred over the past week with frost and freeze conditions impacting parts of the U.S. Midwest and Plains a little more than a week ago followed by extremes highs during this past weekend in the 90s to over 105 Fahrenheit in the heart of the Plains. Temperatures in the northwestern Plains reached into the 80s and over 90 briefly last week, but high temperatures in the southwestern Canada Prairies and the northwestern U.S. Plains during the weekend were stuck in the 30s and 40s. An additional fall in temperatures will occur tonight with portions of the northern west-central Plains back again into the frost and freeze range. This should be the last of the coldest nights for a while.
