Weekly Citrus Weather for Tuesday, May 26, 2026

            Kansas City, May 26 (World Weather Inc.) – Rain continued to fall frequently and beneficially in eastern and southern Mexico during the past week maintaining a very good outlook for production in 2026. Western Mexico remains dry biased and in need of rain in unirrigated groves. Brazil’s rainfall has been periodic, but light having a low impact on the harvest season. Both Mexico and Brazil citrus areas will experience little change over the next week to ten days. In the meantime, Florida citrus areas will begin seeing rainfall a little more routinely as the subtropical high-pressure center relocates in a favorable position to bring rain into the state.

Europe Drying Raises Concern Over French Crops

Kansas City, May 26 (World Weather Inc.) – Weather conditions in Europe during much of the spring season has been and continues to be supportive of crop development and farming activity. Rainfall has been sufficient to support normal crop development in the majority of the continent; however, recent drying and warmth has accelerated dryness in France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and parts of both the U.K. and Germany. The next ten days will be dominated by warmer-than-usual weather and lighter-than-usual rainfall with the driest and warmest conditions likely over the balance of this week and into the weekend. Much of Europe will be drying down additionally this week; though, France and a few immediate neighboring areas will be the area of most concern since it is already dry.

U.S. May Weather Brings Dryness Concerns To Several Areas

            Kansas City, May 22 (World Weather Inc.) – Precipitation so far in May has been quite varied across key U.S. crop areas. The bulk of the Midwest has had sufficient soil moisture to support spring planting and early season crop development, but there is some growing concern about dryness in several areas and a close monitoring of weather in the next few weeks is warranted. Certainly, the coming ridge of high pressure over central North America will be a concern for the next week to ten days. World Weather, Inc. does not believe the trends seen in this time period represent the summer pattern. More variety is coming, although that does not guarantee no ongoing pockets of dryness.
